Leather Surface Repair EXPERT LINE is a special repair compound for leather. Surface Repair perfectly strengthens the worn-out leather and fills the micro-cracks in it. The polyurethane base of the product ensures high adhesion to the leather and resistance to a wide range of mechanical and thermal stress during use.

Leather Surface Repair is ideal for repairing cracks and damage to leathers where the cracks or damage are not deep enough for the use of Light Filler but need to be repaired before the leather can be painted. Leather Surface Repair is excellent buffing compound and remains fairly clear after drying, which makes it easy to work with and easy to colour.

Instructions

APPLICATION OF REPAIR COMPOUND

The liquid consistency of the product enables you to work with it without using special tools. You can apply it in any convenient way, with a sponge applicator, a spatula or a brush.

Gently fill small cracks in the surface of your skin with Surface Repair and use a hair dryer to dry it. The water base of Surface Repair requires only a few minutes to thoroughly dry the composition. The product will sag very slightly as it dries, so it should be applied several times in thin layers, drying thoroughly. The compound can be made into the colour you want by adding 10% Leather Colourant in the colour you want.

PAINT APPLICATION

Shake the paint thoroughly before application. For best results it is recommended to apply the paint in thin and even coats and spray it thoroughly with a spray gun or an airbrush.

Pneumatic spraying by airbrush or airbrush gun. Can be diluted with distilled water. Nozzle diameter: 0.5 to 1.2 mm. Pressure: 1.1 – 8 bar (depending on airbrush or spray gun model). Compressed air must be free from water and oil. Paint must be thoroughly mixed and passed through a 190 micron filter before application.

Application with sponge, brush or roller: The optimum viscosity allows application by hand, touch-up of minor skin blemishes, foundation coats for further skin treatment or colour recovery.

TOPCOAT APPLICATION

After painting, it is advisable to protect the leather surface with LeTech Leather Top Coat and 5-10% Cross Linker X polyurethane fixative.

LeTech Leather Top Coat enhances the abrasion and durability of the leather finish.

Leather Thickening Agent

Leather topcoat is applied as a final step, after the leather has been repaired and coloured, to ensure a permanent hold. Leather Thickening Agent is ideally applied by spraying with an airbrush or airbrush gun. This allows you to get an even film and the necessary protective coating characteristics. Avoid applying too much varnish as too thick layers of barrier varnish can discolour the leather and make it harder to handle.

The drying time of Leather Top Coat depends on the temperature and humidity of the environment. Leather Top Coat can usually be used after 2-3 hours after restoration, but the complete curing and crystallisation process takes 8-12 hours.

It is not recommended to expose the leather to cleaning agents and application of various leather care products in the first week after restoration and application of Leather Top Coat. A week after restoration, the leather can be used without restrictions.

INSTRUMENT CLEANING

After all coatings have been applied, rinse the tools used thoroughly with water and, if necessary, use LeTech Leather Prep paint remover.
