Description

Leather Casein Additive belongs to the classical film formers of the protein type in the classification of leather coatings. It comes from milk, in which it is found in the form of calcium caseinate.

Casein paints have a disadvantage in terms of resistance to water, which is the reason why casein is so poorly used today.

However, modified casein solutions are permanent components of coating paints for finishing of shoe leathers and other leathers, where high hygienic properties and breathability are required.

The modified casein-based film formers of EXPERT LINE LeTech series produce coatings, which have all the positive properties of the original casein-based paints described above, while ensuring the highest possible durability and moisture resistance.

The addition of Casein Additive EXPERT LINE to coatings gives the leather valuable properties such as

– High aesthetic appeal

– Resistance of the coating to aggressive media

– Resistant to mechanical abrasion and other influences

– Creation of dispersion film, which increases vapour and moisture exchange.

The Leather Casein Additive EXPERT LINE finishing coat is ideal for:

Instructions

LeTech Casein Additive Expert Line belongs to the professional range of materials; working with it requires a certain application technique as well as an understanding of the product’s properties.

Our LeTech ACADEMY – LeCademy+ trains you in the correct use of our professional care and restoration products and supports you in the application process.

APPLICATION OF FINISH COAT WITH CASEIN ADDITIVE

After the painting of leather shoes or leather garments, we recommend protecting the surface with LeTech Leather Top Coat and adding Cross Linker X 5-10% of the total amount of the product, as well as adding Casein Additive 10%-15% of the total amount of the product.

Leather Top Coat Protective Coat with Casein Additive significantly improves the vapour permeability of leather, improves its hygienic properties and imparts a natural lustre to the leather.

With the LeTech EXPERT LINE range of protective coatings, you can choose from a vast selection of matt or gloss leathers, plus the tactile properties you want from our unique line of protective coat additives:

  1. tactile Leather Slip Additive
  2. a Leather Wax-Effect Additive for tactile modification
  3. Leather X-GUARD Leather X-GUARD Additive
  4. Leather Casein Additive
  5. Leather Thickening Agent

Leather topcoat protection varnish with the Leather additive is applied as a final step, after the leather has been repaired and coloured, to ensure that the result is firmly fixed. It is ideal to apply the product by spraying it on with an airbrush or airbrush gun. This allows you to get an even film and the necessary protective coating characteristics. Avoid applying too much varnish as too thick layers of barrier varnish can discolour the leather and make it harder to handle.

The drying time of Leather Top Coat depends on the temperature and humidity of the environment. Leather Top Coat can usually be used after 2-3 hours after restoration, but the complete curing and crystallisation process takes 8-12 hours.

It is not recommended to expose the leather to cleaning agents and application of various leather care products in the first week after leather restoration and Leather Top Coat application. One week after restoration, the leather can be used without restrictions.
